What is Dental Bonding?
Dental bonding is a resin, or, if you will, a plastic that can permanently bond with dental enamel and the ceramics used in Porcelain Veneers, Fillings, and Crowns.

How can plastic be used to treat chips and cracks in teeth?
Dental bonding resin is an advanced material, like dental ceramic, and it is modified with additives to give it the desired properties, including not only strength, hardness, and toughness, but also the proper color.

Who is a good candidate for dental bonding?
Anyone who suffers from minor chips, cracks, or gaps in their teeth can benefit from teeth bonding. Healthy teeth and gums are a prerequisite, because there's no point in cosmetically treating a tooth that has serious problems.

How long does the process take?
Most of the length of the process is determined by the amount of time it takes to shape the dental bonding mechanism into the desired shape. However, Dr. Spinner is a master craftsman and has become quite skilled at this process, so it is not especially lengthy. Once the resin is shaped, it cures essentially instantly under the curing lamp. The procedure is completed in only one visit, unlike Porcelain Veneers, Fillings, and Crowns, which require two weeks for the lab to custom-create, and must be done over a series of visits.

How long do the results last?
In general, the results of tooth bonding can be expected to last five to ten years, depending on how well you take care of your teeth.
